Miss Katie Eyre

Wycombe Hospital, High Wycombe

Katie Eyre is a consultant urological surgeon at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

Miss Eyre completed her undergraduate medical degree at the University of Southampton.  She undertook urology specialist training in the Thames Valley region with a particular focus on endourology and stone surgery, as well completing several attachments in paediatric urology. She completed a post CCT fellowship in spinal and reconstructive urology at the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment centre in Salisbury.

In her consultant role she offers general urological services and has a sub specialist interest in functional and reconstructive urology, providing male and female incontinence surgery and care for functional bladder disorders. She is developing the Thames Valley regional service for the care of adolescents with bladder dysfunction who are transitioning into adult services. Miss Eyre is a specialist in spinal injuries urology, leading the team delivering the urology service to the National Spinal Injuries Centre in Stoke Mandeville. The spinal unit provides rehabilitation services for patients with spinal cord injury from across the south-east and south central region. The NSIC is the largest spinal unit in the UK. Katie is passionate about advocating for patients with spinal cord injury and ensuring that they have fair and equitable access to excellent urological care to ensure lifelong optimal management of their neuropathic bladder.

Miss Eyre is enthusiastic about medical education and is actively involved in education and training in her hospital trust, the Thames valley Deanery and in urological education nationally. She has an interest in patients providing peer to peer support and is using her urological knowledge to provide advice to the Spinal Injuries Association charity.

Katie is married to a professor of infectious disease (always helpful for that last minute antibiotic advice!) and has 3 wild children. She loves the great outdoors in the form of running, mountain climbing and skiing.
